My top 6 maternity clothing brands and stores

The first trimester of my pregnancy was one of the most challenging times. My body started changing and my hormones made my daily life quite difficult. At work no one knew about my pregnancy and it was quite hard to explain a constant exhausting tiredness and to hide the all day sickness. On top of that I wasn’t able to zip up my denim anymore and I was covering my waist with oversized jumpers and tops. I remember living this period with a lot of anxiety and fear that people would see, understand and ask questions! I’ve bought my first pair of maternity jeans from Asos as soon as I’ve told everybody at work I was expecting. It was such a relief! I was finally free to play with my outfits and to proudly show my growing tummy!

Guess what? Asos, H&M and Top Shop are not the only stores selling maternity clothing! There’s a whole world of brands to discover out there and I’ll show you in this post the garments that I’ve loved the most. Pregnancy lasts for few months only and I believe we all want to spend our money on comfortable and stylish maternity clothing that we can possibly wear afterwards too.

For the first 5 months of pregnancy you can easily wear dresses and tops from your pre maternity wardrobe, as long as they are stretchy and they don’t feel uncomfortable on the waist and on your lungs. These are some of my favourite outfits I wore during the first and second trimester.

MY TOP 6!

In terms of jeans, I’ve started wearing maternity styles straight away. Because I was working in an office for at least 8 hours a day, I needed very comfortable bottoms. I’ve got denims in different colours: black, dark blue, light blue and military green, so that I could easily put together everyday outfits without feeling limited. I’ve also enjoyed wearing dresses as it was summer when my bump popped. My favourite maternity brands are: Asos, for the variety of styles and prices. Madderson London, for the sophisticated style and fit. Tiffany Rose, for the prints and materials. Isabella Olivier, for the quality of the fabric and the bold style. Noppies, for the wide choice of basics and fantastic denim fit. Mothercare has literally everything for mum and babies and I’ve loved their selection of maternity wear brands, a must go website indeed!
